Rosamond Burns is a retired elementary
school teacher who has resided in the
Dunkirk/Fredonia communities of western New York since she left Long
Island , NY to attend the State University of New York at Fredonia
in 1949. She has a B.S. and M.S in Elementary Education and
"The Beginning, The Importance
of the Years Birth To Five", as well as two children's books. For several
years has authored the column Yesterdays and Today.
Notable and inspirational influences in her formative
years were actress and authoress Cornelia Otis Skinner, who personally
mentored her and Don Gardner, her high school music
teacher, affectionately known for the holiday classic "All I Want for
Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.
has five children, thirteen grandchildren, and two great

George H. Burns III is the oldest son of
Rosamond Burns and George H. Burns Jr.. He is a retired U.S. Coast
Guard Commander and is self employed as a maritime security, safety
and environmental protection consultant. He occasionally sails as an
officer in the U.S. Merchant Marine
